Volunteer Information and
Opportunities
The
PTO needs you! We are currently recruiting volunteers and funds
for the 2006-07 school year. If you can volunteer please fill
out the volunteer forms that were mailed out
and return to the
Leon PTO.
If you
can make a donation, please make checks payable to Leon High PTO.
Remember,
even though our students are getting older, it is still important for
parents to be involved. Your time and resources are greatly
needed and appreciated. Thanks!!

Volunteer Opportunities

Student
Recognition/Special events - coordinate or help with recognition
events and special activities for students.

Newsletter
- help prepare newsletters for bulk mailing during morning hours (3-4
times per year)

Teacher
Appreciation - provide and/or set up food and other goodies for
occasional teacher appreciation activities and monthly faculty
meetings.

Project
Graduation - plan and put on special graduation night activity (at FSU's Leach Center). Lots of jobs (large and small).
Usually 11-12th grade parents.

Proctoring
- proctor/assist teachers during annual testing (FCAT, PSAT, etc.)

Office
Volunteer - help in the guidance office and/or main office with
phones, filing, mailings, etc.

Media
Center Volunteer - help in Media Center with shelving, circulation,
inventory, etc.

Business/Special Skill - become a "partner" by providing financial,
in-kind or human resources.

Baking
- refreshments are occasionally needed for evens on a case by case
basis.

Chaperone - help teachers with activities on campus or throughout
the city on a case by case basis.

Culinary Arts - help the Culinary Arts teacher on a case by case
basis.

Homecoming - help with the Cheerleading sponsor with the dance and
other activities.

Judging
- help judge History Fair, Science Fair, etc. as they occur
throughout the year.

Partners for Excellence - would your office or business be
interested in supporting Leon with financial and/or in-kind
contributions?

Activities/Clubs/Sports - help with your individual student's
activity, club, sport, etc.
